Biography
The French-Canadian writer and artist Audrée Wilhelmy was born in Cap Rouge, Quebec, in 1985. She is the author of the novels Les sangs (2015, Prix Sade), Le corps des bêtes (2018), and Blanc Résine (2022), all published by Grasset; and Peau-de-sang (Tripode, 2024). Blending women’s voices and natural forces, her writing invents cosmogonies that lie outside time and geography. Here are places where desire, animality, and the sacred are transformed into allegorical figures. Two of her novels are available in English translations by Susan Ouriou, The Body of Beasts (Arachnide, 2019); and White Resin (Arachnide, 2021).
