Biography

The French screenwriter, film director and novelist Garance Meillon was born in Paris. She studied literature before leaving for the United States, where she earned a BFA in Screenwriting and Filmmaking. Back in France, she began writing for adults and children while continuing to work on projects for film and television. Her book titles include Une famille normale (2016) and La douleur fantôme (2018), both published by Fayard; and Les corps insoluble (Gallimard, 2021). Her latest novel, La langue de l’ennemi (Gallimard, 2023), is a modern fable about normative discourse’s insidious poisoning of our connections with others.
