Biography
The American poet and translator Patty Crane was born in Cape Code (Massachusetts). She translated Bright Scythe (Sarabande Books, 2015), an initial selection of poems by the Swedish poet and later Nobel Prize winner Tomas Tranströmer; and The Blue House: Collected Works of Tomas Tranströmer (Copper Canyon Press, 2023), the winner of the 2024 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. Crane is the author of the award-winning poetry collections Bell I Wake To (Zone 3 Press First Book Award, 2019) and something flown (Concrete Wolf, 2018). Her work has been widely published, most recently in 32 Poems, Valparaiso Poetry Review, and Vox.
