Biography

The Rwandan-born Namibian writer, editor, publisher and photographer Rémy Ngamije is the author of The Eternal Audience Of One (Blackbird Books, 2021 / Scout Press, 2022), his award-winning debut novel; and Only Stars Know the Meaning of Space, a collection of interconnected stories. He is the recipient of several awards, including the 2021 Africa Regional Prize of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, and was shortlisted for the AKO Caine Prize for African Writing in 2020 and 2021. He is also the founder, chairperson and administrator of Doek Arts Trust, an independent arts organization supporting the literary arts, and the cofounder and editor-in-chief of Doek! Literary Magazine, Namibia’s first and only literary magazine.
