Biography
The London-based British writer Sophie Mackintosh was born in South Wales in 1988. Her fiction and nonfiction has appeared in a number of important publications, including The New York Times, Granta, The White Review and The Stinging Fly. She is the author of three novels, all published by Hamish Hamilton, The Water Cure (2018), Blue Ticket (2020), and Cursed Bread (2023), while a fourth, Permanence, is slated for publication this year. Her work has been nominated for a number of prizes, including the Booker Prize and Women’s Prize for Fiction, and translated into thirteen languages.
